The Wall Street Journal(the Republican bible now owned by Rupert Murdoch) has just ran the following piece in its online blogs : " Obama Ad to Highlight McCain’s Involvement in "Keating Five" Scandal".
Fair enough. What was surprising is the readers reaction to the article
(see below for full details)given that this site is now operated by the same people who run Fox News. Steve Doocy wouldn't let his guest mention the Keating 5 recently and his mike was immediately cut on Fox recently.
Why are readers of the Wall Street Journal turning against McCain ? And is it only a once off or a genuine trend amongst sections of the Republican base (wealthy fiscal conservatives) ?
Does anyone have an answer ?
Well done WSJ readers. Thank you for standing up to your party and telling the truth.
The following are the actual readers Comments. I was pleasantly surprised.

The McCain camp should have known that this was contingent on their using guilt by association. I like McCain, but he deserves it now.

As any poker player knows, Mr. McCain, when you go "All In" too many times, you end up losing all your chips!

McCain, and the Republicans in general, have proven with the Swiftboat strategy that they are a most dirty party that will stoop even lower than permafrost levels to achieve their means.
Unlike Kerry that did not defend his name, Obama needs to freeze McCain and let them roil in their own permafrost so people don’t get duped into voting this disastrous party in again. Don’t vote these abhorrent liars and smear artists into office again, our country is at stake!

Very interesting. What goes around will come around.
I think Obama is very smart and will not lose like Kerry. If he hits McCain with "Keating Five", McCain is done as he doesn’t have anything to throw at him.

McCain/Palin stepped in it, for sure. Their smears now open the door to the Keating issue, which is actually relevant to the current economic crisis.
