I'm sure, by now, most of you are fully aware that controversial film director Oliver Stone's latest work, W., hits theaters nationwide on Friday, October 17, just a few weeks before this year's presidential election between Barack Obama and John McCain.
W. is Stone's take on the highly unpopular and controversial presidency of George W. Bush. While the subject matter is ripe for eviscerating, the person behind the camera brings a lot of unwanted baggage to the table. Stone's storied history of being a provocateur and perpetual thorn in the right-wing's side has made him a champion of the progressive movement, while simultaneously, providing a huge target for the right-wing media elite.
Will W. drive vast numbers of undecided voters to the polls who will pull the handle/punch the card/touch the button for an Obama/Biden administration? Or will the Stepford Malin bloviators trumpet this movie as another Hollywood-liberal-elitists-who-Hate-America-First calling card to reject those arugula eating pansies?
