Do men realize that with her wink and flirt Sarah Palin is insulting them and all men of America? I ask that question because I thought it was obvious until last night I was talking with my husband about it and although he can't stand Palin, he didn't 'realize it. I and most women see her clearly. Once I explained it to him, he agreed completely. Remember during the Vice Presidential debate, CNN (if you watched that channel) had a 'tracker' indicating what men and women were thinking about responses at all times. Well when 'cutesy' Sarah Palin would start her 'winking and flirting' the women's line would drop like a rock. That's because women appear to be more aware of personal insults of that form than men are. Women become irate when men look at them and say 'honey' in a certain manner as if that is enough to whip her into action. Now men are experiencing the same insult.
The next thing that I want to discuss is the 'flirt'. No, I'm not jealous of Sarah Palin. My husband put it pretty succinctly when he said 'I think she is only marginally attractive.' That is how I see her too. A 'beauty queen' she's not except in her own mind. The other part of this is 'Do we really want someone (woman or man) in the office of Vice President (or even moving into the office of President) that leaves the impression that she can't wait to be propositioned? Apparently, she either hasn't been propositioned enough in her life or she experiences a high on thinking she is 'exciting' the men of the world. That is truly insulting to America and particularly to men. To intimate that she thinks that she can flirt and cutesy and men will rush out to vote MCCain and Palin is insulting to the intellect of men in America. That isn't even addressing what foreign dignitaries 'think'. Do you really want a Vice President (or President) 'negotiating' that sort of contract on a worldwide scale? That sort of behavior has always been a concern to the FBI and CIA within their own ranks. Now, I think it should be a concern to American voters in their rank too. Women have fought hard to get respect for their sex, now men are experiencing the 'insult' and need to fight back too. Too many men work too hard to tolerate some cutesy woman trying to pretend that all they do is drink beer and have sex. She is disgusting.
Is violence what we really want to teach our young girls?
While we are discussing Sarah Palin, I have one other issue that I would like to address... that's the 'Joe Six-pack issue. I know it is a 'term' that is sometimes used, but the Psychology behind it seems to have been lost on the nation's voters and especially on Democrats. I do not think that it was an accident that she chose (or someone chose for her) that term on a night when she was debating 'Joe' Biden. IMO it could have taken one or either of two directions and either would have been great for the Republicans. The first direction they could have accepted was if people equated her competition with 'Joe' Six-pack inferring 'lower'. The second one that they would have found acceptable is their identification with the 'beer drinking' football playing-racing-sports mentality. No, the fact that 'Joe Six-pack was first addressed during a debate with 'Joe' Biden wasn't lost on me. It was a subtle and subliminal message that she was expected to project.
Does anyone doubt that the slithering, Rove is still in the back room?
