I just watched the “Gregory One-On –One” segment on the show "Race For The White House" After watching this segment I have reached a conclusion; David Gregory is simply not up to this job and is the shallowest political host on any network out there, including Fox. I don’t mean this criticism from a Conservative or Liberal perspective this criticism is due to complete lack of depth from an interview perspective. Gregory is more concerned with making sure his profile is framed properly than being willing to challenge either campaign spokespersons, he invites a lack of truth because it is 100% safe to tell him anything without factual question. Gregory didn’t question a single statement from either of his guest and both campaigns basically gave commercials. The funny thing is Gregory saying “I’ll go one on one” gives the suggestion that he will question, probe, challenge. He disappoints.
UPDATE: Whew, I thought it was just me, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one, thanks!!
More after the fold;
The other thing I notice with Gregory, he has no interest in the good of the country or even the relevant issues, the Dow was down 500 points today and he’s like the Jerry Springer of TV, trying to start a fight over William Ayers or Keating. He is a hypocrite, in one sentence he says the American people want to know about the issues, then in the next does everything he can to pivot from the real issues to issues like Ayers or Keating. Gregory is good for the one question shots he gets as the WH correspondent but is severely lacking in the host chair.
If you don’t have real substance you look to create conflict to give your program juice, that’s what Gregory does all the time.
I’ve decided I can no longer watch MSNBC from the 6-7 hour; it’s just not worth the time, better to watch CNN during that period then turn back when the whacko Lou Dobbs comes on.
Am I the only one that has this reaction to his show?
How does his program rate in the Nielsens?
