There are twelve occasions in last nights debate where the moderator, Tom Brokaw, moves from one candidate to the other. Something felt wrong about it, but it wasn't until the I read the transcript that I discovered what it was.
"Thank you very much, Senator McCain," Mr Brokaw states on six occasions, on the other six occasions (after Obama speaks) Mr Brokaw says simply "Mr McCain?"
This is subtle but taken in the context of his fastidiousness
with the applicastion of the rules with respect to Senator Obama,
and his jocular interactions with Senator McCain it seems all of a piece.
I have found one occasion when Mr. Brokaw said "Thank you very much, Senator Obama."
