I was browsing a video on TPM (the video can be found here, on the front page of TPM) about McCain's pledges to run a clean campaign vs. the gutterball campaign he's been running. At 2:42 into the video, John McCain says something I agree with:
"Sooner or later, people are going to figure out that if all that you run is negative attack ads, you don't have much of a vision for the future, or, you're not ready to articulate it."
Very fitting considering the fusillade of mud that McCain is readying - and starting to sling - towards Barack. And what to do about it after the jump...
Remember, folks, Obama is up big, but this isn't over yet. We're about to see a deluge of negative ads the likes we've never seen in a campaign before. But we'll win by sticking to the fundamentals and letting the campaign deal with McCain's B.S. So do what you can. Drop Obama some dough. Get on the phones. Go door to door. Or, if you're like me and you live next door to a swing state, think about paying a visit to that state to canvass some neighborhoods for a weekend or two. Some have said we can't get complacent, but I want to replace that with this: Now, more than anytime at all, is the time to put the accelerator to the floor and don't let off until we've crossed the finish line.
