Utah has been dumped on, by the Federal government. According to an article in the Salt Lake Tribune, unbenounced to the Utah Radiation Control Division, the radioactive waste from foreign countries has been disposed of in their state. In the ground. With the blessing of the U.S. government.

According to the article, the waste has come from Canada and Mexico. Noice. According to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, it’s such a small amount it’s not significant. When asked, well, how much radioactive waste is a concern, they did not have an exact number for that. Is it that the data wasn’t handy? Or that, they don’t have an exact number for that? Anything labeled "radioactive waste" in my mind, is probably not good in any amount. But that’s just my layperson-doesn’t-understand-a-little-radioactive-waste-is-okay opinion.
I find it disturbing that this was done without the knowledge of state level officials. It’s not the first time this state has been dumped on. They’ve been dumped on big time in the past. http://query.nytimes.com/...
So with this new dumping information, seemingly done stealthily and sneakily, I got to thinking. Utah. Utah. We have a candidate running who believes we should look into alternative energy resources, but notes that nuclear energy should be handled in a manner that is safe for the environment, BLAH BLAH BLAH, neighbors should be notified, BLAH BLAH BLAH.....maybe our guy runs a few ads in Utah. For the sake of posterity.
