Today is the last day for early voting in Virginia. If the lines for early voting are a preview of tuesday, I encourage you to vote early.
I'd like to start by saying that I am not good at waiting in lines. I get frustrated with my 5 mile commute. In NOVA that is a rarity, but in my defense that 5 mile drive can take 20 minutes.
Today I made the 3 mile trek to my early voting place, it is the last day for early voting in VA. I was at a Halloween party last night and did not call the cab until 0300, so I was a bit Hung over. When I got to the polling place in Reston there was a line, but since I got rock star parking i did not think it would be too bad.
After an hour in line I was told there was another hour estimated wait. After another hour I was told there was another hour estimated wait. At that point I was tempted to leave and check back later, but endured because I figured that it would be worse on tuesday.
All told it was about 2 hours 45 minutes.
I got there a half hour after the polls and the line was about the same when I left as when I arrived.
I have been doing my own personal phone banking by calling my friends and co-workers encouraging them to vote early (I was the last one in my family to vote).

Looks like it may be at the PW County Fairgrounds! It promises to be an historic event.

Additionally the Democratic sample ballots in line far outnumbered the Republican Sample ballots. I also had to help a Republican in line figure out what district we were in. He is voting against Feder, but My wife and I Voted for her.
