It's 1:50 AM now.
I just got back from an Obama field office after volunteering for 15 hours. I usually volunteer from that location, but today was especially exhilarating.
There were 100 volunteers - easy.
There were 6000 doors to knock.
All 6000 doors were knocked in ONE day!
I've never seen the office with this much life. The data entry section was flooded with volunteers to data, but yet, they could not keep up with the number of canvassers waiting for their packet.
The office was calm. No shouting. No drama. Everyone was conscious of each other's space. Everyone was sayings "thanks" to each other.
To top it all off, Senator Obama did a quick phone conference to rally up the troops. There were many people in the room who were moved to tears.
I am convinced tonight why we are going to win this election. It is not because of Obama. Sure he's great. But, I think we will this election, because of days like today!
Tomorrow, I will wake up early and do this all over again.
We will deliver Virginia. I promise. I've been on the ground.
