A Republican congressman from Georgia is calling President-elect Obama a Marxist and warning that he might be planning to form a Gestapo-like security force so he can rule as a dictator.
Two-term Rep. Paul Broun of Athens cited a July speech that has circulated on the Internet in which Obama called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.
Broun said he was not fearmongering but wants to warn people that the nation could be going down that path.
This is post election. He did not spew this crap in the heat of the moment out of nerves that Obama might take Georgia. Does he even know how to define Marxism? This is the representative for Georgia's 10th district, home of Athens, which is a pretty cool town, home of R.E.M. and the Indigo Girls.
I have a suggestion for the first name for the Orange to Blue campaign; whomever runs against him. He won 61% this last time, but he should be vulnerable to a good candidate who can get the kids to vote in Athens.
One thing that completely pisses me off is the right's abuse of language. Obama ran to the center as compared to John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich. Yet, this jerkwad is claiming that he is a Marxist who is going to impose a dictatorship.
I suppose Obama has fooled Warren Buffett and Colin Powell and the multitude of Republicans, conservatives, and business people who have endorsed him. Or perhaps they are in on the plot too.
Paul Broun is a serious wanker. If you want to let him know how you feel, his office number in D.C. (202) 225-4101 and the number to his Athens office is (706) 549-9588.
