So apparently the Christocrats are getting an early start this year. What has them up in arms this time? Teh ebil Christ-hating department store managers eschewing Christmas trees for generic decorations or telling their employees to say "Happy Holidays"? Nope. From CNN:
Ads proclaiming, "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake," will appear on Washington buses starting next week and running through December.
The American Humanist Association unveiled the provocative $40,000 holiday ad campaign Tuesday.
Gasp! Atheists exercising free speech, how provocative! There must be some secret executive order addressing this! But never fear, the American Family Association is on the case!
In mid-October, the American Family Association started selling buttons that say "It's OK to say Merry Christmas." The humanists' entry into the marketplace of ideas did not impress AFA president Tim Wildmon.
For once, the AFA is right about something. It certainly doesn't bother me or anyone I know if you say Merry Christmas. Though it loses some of its goodwill when angrily barked in hopes of starting a fight with the "infidels".
But really, Christocrats, couldn't you have at least waited until Black Friday? I'm sure I'm not the only one who just wants to enjoy the Thanksgiving season (or hell, at least one holiday in the year) without being declared an enemy in the Wingnut Jihad.
