I've decided to start a new weekly series in the spirit of many others who post on Daily Kos. Every Friday evening, I intend to start a good-natured and laid back stroll through some news and cultural tidbits that are on my mind and may not have been discussed on this site.
Hopefully, some people may enjoy it.
OK let's get started:
The major topic of the day has been the rumors of Barack Obama offering Hillary Clinton the Secretary of State gig. I can't say I'm a fan of this, I prefer Bill Richardson.
With that out of the way, moving on...

I didn't see this discussed here today but
ABC is reporting that:
A federal grand jury in North Carolina is investigating allegations the controversial private security firm Blackwater illegally shipped assault weapons and silencers to Iraq, hidden in large sacks of dog food, ABCNews.com has learned.
Two other former employees tell ABCNews.com they also witnessed the dog food smuggling operation. They say the weapons were actually hidden inside large sacks of dog food, packaged at company headquarters in North Carolina and sent to Iraq for the company's 20 bomb-sniffing dogs.

That's just wonderful.

You may or may not be aware but 23/6.com puts out a new entry in the fantastic Get Your War On videos every Friday. I will include them here every week:

There's a new James Bond movie coming out. I'm excited. A couple summers ago, I read all of the original Ian Fleming novels in a row. What are your favorite Bond films and why?

I found this video back before the primaries:
It's extra awesome now because it's true.

And finally, I plan to include a music video at the end of every entry in this series. Feel free to post your own favorites in the comments.

Next week, I plan on having plenty more to discuss but hopefully this is a good start to what I hope will be a sucessfull endeavor.
With that, let's get the weekend started!
