Hey, everybody.
So we run a webcomic called Surviving the World where we try to offer up a daily lesson about anything in science, literature, love, life, politics, religion, or just whatnot. Today's, being two weeks after the election, felt entirely appropriate to share to you all here, so we're doing so.

This comic is in response to the passing of Proposition 8 in California. We're posting it two weeks after Election Day because it's taken us two weeks to properly separate our opinions from our anger on the matter. STW's views on discrimination have been addressed before, so we'll focus on pro-Prop 8 arguments this way:
First, if you believe gay marriage is immoral because the Bible says so, but are willing to rationalize away the above laws, then you're picking and choosing. That makes you a hypocrite.
Secondly, if you believe it's unnatural, well, so are other things, but you don't see protests at the zoo.
Finally, if you believe gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of marriage, you have to admit that a 45 percent divorce rate is doing a pretty good job of that by itself.
The only good thing to come out of the vote were the exit polls. In three out of the four ballot measures against gays, the youth vote (under 29) was strongly against the constitutional amendments/bans, and in Florida, the youth were the closest to opposing the measure. Do you realize what this means? Give us ten, twenty, hell, at most, thirty years. By then, WE WILL OUTNUMBER YOU. You are going to lose. Have no doubt about that.
Phew. Alright. We don't like using the comic as a soapbox, but sometimes, some things need to be said. That's all for politics, hopefully for a while, folks. Nothing but humor returns tomorrow.

(Just a note, if you want to share the lesson around, please share the link directly to our website as opposed to photobucket, since we only put it there to be able to post it here.)
