I am astounded. Hillary and Joe seem to be driving my compatriots insane, and it bums me out. One cannot have followed events here at the Daily Kos for long without seeing the amazing sense of community and common cause we had during the election. We seemed to be listening to our candidate talking about bringing the country together and ending the partisanship, and we were his preaching ministers on the streets. The man was asking us to stand with him as he brings about the changes we need. One of those changes is to WORK TOGETHER. So many people, just like you, and just like me preached it too. We knocked door to door, rang bells and dialed phones. Now, reading the Kos, it looks like two weeks later, so many of you have forgotten what we were doing.
I am not an apologist for anybody, and I can be rough on my own people if they screw up. I have not seen that happen yet though, and Obama is following through on what he said he would do.
Look, he preached this from the beginning. Are you a supporter of Obama's, or not? He is building a tent of governance, and his political enemies are the first ones he plans to bring inside. next to him, where he can see them. We are safer because of it.
Barack Obama is not about getting even, he is not about setting us at odds. Hillary as SOS and Lieberman retaining his position fill me with pride at my choice for president. And for the very reasons he enunciated during the campaign.
Let me tell you who wins when Hillary Clinton is our Secretary of State. We win- America wins. She is now really on board the boat, and regardless of what anyone here thinks, she carries a big stick politically and I for one want her on the right side.
Let me tell you who wins when Lieberman gets to keep his chairmanship - we do. America does. It sends a loud ass message to the opposition. We are the party of inclusiveness even to people like him. This might be distasteful to some, but to me it makes sense, and makes me more sure of my choice in a president.
Please stop the ridiculous whining about everything coming out of the transition right now. I signed up with Barack early on, and I was a delegate for him. I listened to his words. I am quite pleased with what I see so far from the man as a politician.
The world needs the kind of the diplomacy we are seeing out of our president elect. I repeat: I am quite pleased
