Dear Kossacks,
As you know, in Minnesota, the election isn't over. And Michelle Bachmann (she who channels Joe McCarthy) is at it again, trying to harm truth for political gain.
First, in case you haven't heard, she has declared that all of those reports that she called Obama Anti-American were urban legend. That's right . . . urban legend of the you-can-see-it-for-yourself-on-You-Tube variety.
But even worse, she is now making false claims about the MN Senate race recount, saying that Franken is "stuffing the ballot boxes."

UPDATE below
This is really bad for democracy. Minnesota has a great reputation of running clean elections. There is absolutely no information other than rumors spread by Fox News that anything untoward is happening.
If you have ideas about how to fight this, I would love to hear them. It really makes me so upset when liars like Bachmann work to erode the public trust for political gain. Why does she want to do this? She knows it isn't true. But she (and Faux Noise) have worked so diligently to spread rumors, that folks in Minnesota are beginning to wonder if the recount is somehow rigged. This is, I want to stress, not at all true.
I thought about asking everyone to complain to Faux Noise or Bachmann's office --would that do any good?
UPDATE:
I was listening to Minnesota Public Radio this morning, and heard announcer Cathy Wurzer repeat Bachmann's clain that Franken was stuffing the ballot box, and even repeating Bachmann's "urban legends" defense without pointing out that this was a lie! (The quote was something like, "Bachmann dismissed the reports she had called Barack Obama anti-American as urban legend." )
I immediately fired off a note to Cathy Wurzer, pointing out that it was incredibly sloppy journalism. Please help me fight this smear, since it could negatively affect Franken's ability to get things done if he does win.
Please email Minnesota Public Radio, or Cathy Wurzer (cwurzer@mpr.org) asking why they are helping spread misinformation from Bachmann.
