McClintock finally released his endorsement list, yet amongst all the other detritus, it is missing the Official Annointment of his would be predecessor, Republican John Doolittle (R, Chevron, Not Yet Indicted)
Back- door Travelin' Tom McClintock would like to keep that relationship as unknown as possible. If John Doolittle has shown up in our district this fall campaign season, no one has managed to capture evidence of it. Yet.
That doesn't mean that McClintock doesn't want help from Doolittle, it just means he doesn't want anyone to know about it.
This extends to the remaining Doolittle protegees, such as Sierra College trustee Aaron Klein, running for re election, who recently used a lawyer to shut down an email service provider which was emailing a message by a political committee named "Save Sierra College," opposing Klein to potential voters. http://www.savesierracollege.com/... Klein's attorney claimed it illegal spam. The SacBee claimed it "pure political speech protected by the first Amendment" on Oct 29th, and said voters shouldn't be fooled "again. "
http://www.sacbee.com/...
{{{ This is outrageous. This was not an unsolicited commercial email, otherwise known as spam. This was pure political speech protected by the First Amendment. The names of registered voters came from publicly available rolls and were used for a non-economic, political purpose, as specifically allowed under state law. And it happened one week before the election, a sensitive time.
California's Election Code is clear that while "commercial use" of voter registration information is prohibited, candidates and committees may use voter information for election or political purposes. That's how you get mailers from candidates and committees. The state's Political Reform Act doesn't explicitly address emails (and legislators need to update it to reflect this technological change), but it's clear that emails supporting or opposing a candidate or ballot measure are political speech.
Further, this email message was not anonymous. It said, "This message authorized and paid for by the Save Sierra College Committee, ID # 1286925." }}}
Of course, as soon as a Doolittle protegee tries shutting down the information flow, it piques the curiosity of just what is it they could possibly being trying to hide.
The Auburn Journal took another half- hearted stab at it Nov 1st, "Sierra College Trustee accused of stifling First Amendment rights, Klein says last minute email 'false.' "
http://www.auburnjournal.com/...
{{{Maki said the e-mail, sent by the committee, was distributed to registered voters. It said Klein tried to connect Sierra College with a federal lobbying firm that is currently under investigation by the FBI.
Klein was vehement in denying that charge.
“Let me be clear: I have never ‘initiated contact’ with any lobbyist for any reason whatsoever, I have never even met the people listed in their press release, and I have never suggested that a particular firm be hired by the college for that purpose,” Klein’s statement read.
Leo Chavez, president/CEO of Sierra College, said he remembered the conversation with Klein when the trustee only offered the contact information of a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm, Potomac Partners. }}}
Where I live, as soon as one reads the phrase "under investigation by the FBI...." you know who comes to mind..... The Incumbent Congressman who isn't running again. And hasn't been seen around these parts much since last year.
Since there is so much outrageous spamacrap on the internet right now being spread about how Democrats are foreign born welfare mooselum marxist eco terrorists, what's with one little email saying a Republican named Klein recommended a lobbyist being worthy of censorship? Oh, look, there's the name of one of Doolittle's ex legislative aides. Evich. Here we go again.
The lobbying firm Potomac Partners (principal, Richard Alcade) has as its clients MANY entities that donate campaign funds to both Doolittle and McClintock. (some past McClintock donations listed here: http://docs.google.com/... ) In Doolittle's case, since he took 5% for Julie as a "fundraiser's fee," they could be considered kickbacks. Since Potomac Partners also has MJM Enterprises as a client (Chicago casino money from the Ilitch family, and their partner Michael Malik )
http://lobbyingdisclosure.house.gov/...
which is being used by the Southern CA Indian Casinos to fund Tom McClintock's current campaign, there is DEFINITELY a motivation for our dear friend Aaron Klein, Sierra College trustee and protege of John Doolittle (R, not yet indicted) to try to shut down the emails bearing the news.
Aaron Klein has already been setting up his next sugar daddy, Tom McClintock. McClintock and his Fox News Minder behind him.
Here is the story:
Klein Entangles Sierra College in Lobbyist Corruption -
"Follow the money." Deep Throat Oct 10 2008 by Bill Martin (who is another trustee of the college)
http://yubanet.com/...
(Aaron) Klein. As Doolittle's 24 year old ideological protege, Klein brought neither a college education nor experience in managing a complex institution.
Winning was not cheap. Running a joint campaign with Scott Leslie, the two neophytes spent $98,089 to take board seats,
Payback began quickly. After disposing of (ex SC President ) Ramirez within 60 days of election in November, 2004, they used their newfound power to divert a chunk of the college's strained operating budget to their patron in Washington D.C.
In March, 2005, they informed Morgan Lynn, interim president, that the college was going to retain a Doolittle-connected Washington lobbyist in order to seek favor for earmarks. •• The lobbyist, Peter Evich, formerly Doolittle's legislative director for five years, was to be paid $5000 per month beginning on July 1, 2005. ••
_ note the name and connection. Pete Evich. ex Doolittle aide _
There was no consideration of alternatives, no competitive process, and no specification of deliverables. (Only ten per cent of community colleges nationwide retain Washington lobbyists.) This heavy handed approach offended the college's staff, but they were told not to object because "we have four votes" (out of seven trustees).
This arrangement persisted for 26 months without further board review ignoring that the initial contract period was specified to be 12 months. The college paid the lobbyist a total of $133,305 from its operating budget. It was finally terminated by the college in August, 2007 because of other pressing needs. (As an indication of the significance of this amount, the total allocated for instructional equipment in the 2008 -2009 budget is only $75,000.)
Part of the public's money flowed back to Doolittle in the form of political contributions by Evich. Public records show that he donated at least $1900 to Doolittle in 2006.
Evich is among former Doolittle staffers who have been contacted by the FBI regarding their investigation of Doolittle. Concern arose beginning in July, 2006 that Evich was on the short-list of potentially indictable individuals in the scandal, and that the college's reputation could be damaged. Yet Evich continued to be paid until August, 2007.
___ the second time, it's not a coincidence_________
Nevertheless, trustee Klein again initiated the same questionable process three months ago.•• In June 2008, he identified a lobbying firm, Potomac Partners, closely connected to Doolittle interests, and referred President Leo Chavez to them. At the Board Retreat in July, Klein boasted that because of his close personal relationships with the•• previous congressman and the next one, •• he believes there is the strong likelihood that the college can attract tens of millions of dollars of federal funds. Moreover, he stated that he had initiated conversations with his presumed congressional winner, Tom McClintock, and that McClintock had personally assured him there would be a positive relationship with Sierra College.
In a report he authored in August, Klein claimed "Sierra College has productive working relationships with present and future congressional leaders both in the Senate and House of Representatives, and we have already initiated informal discussions with them about the potential of dramatically increasing federal funding for the college."
These so-called productive relationships have existed during Klein's entire tenure, and netted little, if anything. (note: I think the problem was that Klein was rather small potatoes to Doolittle http://www.newsmeat.com/... )
Yet, he is ideologically opposed to advocating local responsibility for our own community college in favor of earmarked support from the citizens of Compton, New Orleans and everywhere else but home.
Potomac Partners submitted a proposal to the college dated August 8, 2008. It wasn't until the following week that Klein introduced a motion requesting board approval to seek federal funding. This proposal was followed by a conference call on September 8 from Potomac's principal, Rick Alcalde, and his associate,
•• Dan Feliz, •• concluding with a request for immediate verbal commitment from the college. President Chavez rejected the request knowing that, even given the previous act of the majority, this matter still must go to the board.
A google search of "Rick Alcalde" and "Potomac Partners" shows this lobbying firm has links with virtually every name connected to the current scandal in Washington up to, and including, ••Jack Abramoff. •• The possibility of Sierra College contracting with this firm after an open and cautious public discussion is beyond any responsible comprehension.

from the Verifiable Truth
John Feliz has been affiliated with Malik/Ilitch's Barstow project.
John Feliz and family members have frequently been employed by Doolittle, former Rep. Richard Pombo and a handful of other northern California based conservatives and their committees. John Feliz has been instrumental in raising money for Doolittle, Pombo and others but avoids reporting any contributions or lobbying activity associated with his name.
John Feliz founded a political consulting firm, Communications Consulting Group, twenty five years ago. CCG has offices at 1840 Westminster Ct., Carmichael, CA 95608.
Dan Feliz is an associate lobbyist at Potomac Partners
Dan Feliz is the son of John Feliz. John Feliz managed Doolittle's very first campaign. A long time $ relationship.
Dan Feliz was a Capitol Hill intern in Doolittle's office.
John Feliz is the { fill in the blank} of theTom McClintock campaign. A simple google search "Dan Feliz John Feliz McClintock" shows a list of articles written this year where John Feliz has been referred to as being McClintock's :
an operative of the GOP
a consultant
a spokesman
a campaign manager
not working for the campaign anymore, but used to
Then there is Bill George, McClintock's spare spokesperson, who denies that John Feliz is working for the McClintock campaign even as other articles quote John Feliz in some capacity for McClintock. Feliz is referred to as McClintock's campaign manager in an LA times blog Oct 28, 2008, coming full circle again.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/...
Let's make one short sentence out of all of this.
McClintock wants Sierra College to hire the son of his Campaign { fill in the blank} Feliz, as a lobbyist.
SC Trustee Aaron Klein liked this idea a lot. Until it became public. What does he do. Hires a lawyer to try to shut down an email chain. Good grief. You'd think something was fishy about the whole thing.
Keep in mind while reading this list that Tom McClintock,(R, uses his mom's address in SoCal, lives in Elk Grove, Carpetbags in Auburn) who wants to replace Doolittle, gets most of his money from Southern California. And gets a lot of it from the Southern CA Indian Casinos. And ex- congressman Richard Pombo has been hanging around with the Ilitch family enterprises.

So Sierra College would be paying for the son of McClintock's Campaign { fill in the blank } Feliz, to lobby somebody for Federal Funds.
In return, Klein would be assured of never hurting for campaign donations for himself. John Feliz can always hook a needy politician up with casino money. Win - win for Klein and the younger Feliz, lose- lose for the struggling community college, one of the lowest funded per student in the entire state that is turning away hundreds of students in the rapidly growing district because they have NO ROOM.
Why would Sierra College need to lobby anybody for Federal Funds in the first place, when they are supposedly getting a new, er, recycled Republican Ideological Icon congressperson that isn't going to earmark any money for the district.... oh, wait. How did that happen.
Because they aren't really going to get any extra federal funds, by any means, because they're getting a Republican that will just say anything to get into office but isn't into the problem solving aspect of fixing things. Especially a person like McClintock, who is always complaining about entitlements like education for the masses. It's a self fulfilling prophesy.
Aaron Klein symbolizes everything that is wrong with Republican politics in our district.
There's one way to change this and break the system of cronyism and corruption. Send Klein packing. And send McClintock with him, and elect Charlie Brown.
