Like many of you here in the Kos community, I am deeply offended by the gross abuses of the Bush administration. For the last eight years my very soul has been burning in anguish. This despicable feeling was exacerbated when the people of this country voted for Bush in the 2004 election. At that very moment, I realized that America was no longer a great nation with good people. After all, how could the people approve of torture, crimes against humanity, needless war for shifting and dubious reasons, unchecked abuses of power and attacks against the Constitution of the US? Americans knew and yet they approved of these atrocities via their voice in the 2004 election. America's leadership role in the world is threathen by this condition. Follow me below the fold and I’ll explain why...
If Michele Obama didn’t mean to say she was ashamed of America – I DO! In fact, I would shit on my country EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK and I’d do it on national TV before I’d turn my back on the humanitarian values that I’ve attained from my faith in God. I was surprised and deeply hurt to realize the Christian community did not share the same humanitarian values as they overwhelmingly voted FOR what I perceive as murder, rape and torture in Iraq. In the end, the Church is a complete failure, but at least I could visit this site and feel some comfort from like-minded people who also felt "dirty" to be associated with such atrocities as an American. This site became a cleansing process from the evils of our society. Unfortunately, some fellow Kossacks have shown some misplaced priorities that represent pails of dung in lieu of lye soap by enabling the intrinsic evils of the neo-con ideology.
The greatest danger to this nation is the neo-conservative ideology of "Might equals Right" and to appease this ideology is to risk a return to the truly dark ages in America. When this ideology adds an element of nationalism, it becomes the doctrine of supremacy. Do I really need to explain the evils of supremacy? Do you want to chant USA, USA, USA in a militant fashion that translates into supremacy? With the election of Barack Obama, America has a chance to become GREAT again but we must realize her greatness comes from better values instead of an ability to destroy others. Furthermore, that realization is jeopardized when we as a people accept or enable neo-conservatism. That’s why Howard Dean was WRONG! He believes we can appease evil and it will go away. Joe Lieberman is a neo-con who participated in atrocities against mankind via his active support of this evil, neo-con ideology and I do not believe we should appease him by allowing him to remain as chair of the Homeland Security Council. It’s especially insulting when others rationalize for the concept of more power in the form of a 60-seat majority at the expense of America’s welfare. Power is NOT more valuable to me than principle so please don’t trivialize your own principles with a shallow argument of more power for the Dems. Setting a better standard of America's values should not be compromised for the sake of more power.
It’s NOT punishment, retribution or revenge that I seek. No, instead I want to protect America from a return to the intrinsic evils of the neo-con ideology. Barack Obama convinced me that he understood this danger when he promised to do more than end the war in Iraq, but to end the mindset that started the war in the first place. Rewarding a neo-con like Joe Lieberman does not meet that standard. I understand a balance of unity is badly needed in this country, but I do not understand how evil can be rewarded for the sake of unity. Those who enable the neo-cons like Howard Dean are flirting dangerously with becoming an accomplice to evil. Keeping Joe in the Democratic caucus would be a better example of reaching out for unity because it does not put our nation at risk from the neo-cons. Giving any neo-con power is just too dangerous as it flirts with the risk of returning to the Bush era and it give me great shame as a human being and as an American to EVER return to these dark ages!
So get your priorities in order Kossacks! Seek unity, but I hope to encourage you to NOT encourage, enable or become an accomplice to the neo-cons because they are too dangerous to the welfare of our nation.
