I find it hard to swallow when I hear about Obama bias in the media. I can still remember the weeks and weeks of Jeremiah Wright coverage and the mind numbing sensation I had seeing those clips looped endlessly on every channel. Not to mention the one hour specials on Wright that continued to play every weekend, every free hour, on the 24-hour cable news networks for weeks.
Enter Mark Halperin and his complaints:
"It's the most disgusting failure of people in our business since the Iraq war," Halperin said at a panel of media analysts. "It was extreme bias, extreme pro-Obama coverage."
Excuse me...this is the idiot that told the panel of "This Week" that the McCain house gaffe (where he couldn't remember the number of houses he owned) would hurt Obama.
Transcript:
HALPERIN: My hunch is this is going to end up being one of the worst moments in the entire campaign for one of the candidates but it’s Barack Obama. [...] I believe that this opened the door to not just Tony Rezko in that ad, but to bring up Reverend Wright, to bring up his relationship with Bill Ayers.
As we ended up seeing, McCain took a much dirtier road, one that needed no inspiration from Obama's end.
To repeat, Mark Halperin is a tool.
