In the middle of the show of skits from the 2008 election campaign, she comes on and says NBC will be shut down after she is elected as VP if SNL keeps making fun of her. Did not see any advance notice she would be on. I'll update with video as soon as available.
The real McCain was on too. He is much funnier than Palin. But they should have given the Dems equal time.
Here's a paraphrase:
"The following is a message from Gov. Sarah Palin."
(Palin sitting on a chair next to fireplace.)
Ever since my selection by McCain, my days have been hectic, and I loved every minute of it. When I first heard SNL was making fun of me, I was a little annoyed, but surprised the show was still on the air. Maybe they need to advertise some more. I have no problem with the show making fun of me, it's part of our great political tradition, no candidate is above criticism. But come 1/20 when I'm inaugurated as VP, you guys better knock it off, otherwise we'll have to get NBC's broadcast license revoked. Now, some of my staff has said, this would be inappropriate, and they make a fair point. If NBC stopped broadcasting, how would anyone find out? Nevertheless, it's something I just have to do. In Alaska, we play for keeps. It's called the Palin Doctrine. Thank you for your time, we now return you for SNL's presidential bash.
Not sure if this was recorded before a live audience, there was just a smattering of laughter, maybe a canned laugh track? I didn't think it was funny at all.
