So the day is finally here, after a long primary season and what seemed like an even longer election season, all of our hard work seems like it is going to pay off in every way imaginable. It appears for the first time in eight long years it looks like we are actually going to elect a President. Finally after eight years of fear, divisiveness, attacks on our liberties, freedoms and our constitution; the voices of the people are going to be heard, and we along with the Obama campaign and democrats everywhere are going to make sure that the GOP cannot stifle the voices of the people anymore. I am so proud today to stand along side fellow Americans in rejecting the politics of the last eight years and bringing with us a revolution of change to the country that it so desperately needs.
This is why people have the power, because despite everything Republicans might think, they do not represent our nation and they do not know what is best for our nation. They represent the fear in our society, and by far the most ugliest aspects of our nation. When I think of what represents our nation, I do not think of fear, or bigotry, or war. I think of a nation fighting for equality for all, fighting for the fundamental rights of all people around the world, fighting for peace and prosperity in the world. These are not the qualities that Republicans cherish, and that is why, once the fear has been mostly stripped away (and that people are more scared of Republican philosophy than terrorism) they don't have anything. One of my favorite sayings is that "People should not be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of its people."
So....
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
