One can't look towards the future without looking at the past... Missouri is the bellweather state of the last century. In 1956 we voted for Stevenson instead of Eisenhower, but other than that we are always right.
I know many people out there have their personal state pride. I think that everyone should be watching Missouri tonight. Its going to be a nailbiter. It always is. Hillary Clinton lost Missouri by 11,000 votes. She had to resend her victory statement after Boone County put Obama over the top, after about 98% of returns were in having her ahead and about 11pm at night. That is not an unusual election by any means. Its always within a percent. I think it might be .5% tonight. I think it would be wise for everyone to pay attention to Missouri and see if we keep our bellweather status.
Interesting demographics from Missouri: 5.8 million citizens
White: 86.54%
Black: 12.04%
AIAN: 1.03%
Asian 1.61%
Politically Missouri is in the center of the United states with 5 states to the east and 5 states to the west and 2 states to the north and 2 states to the south. 8 states border missouri. This is the CENTER of the NATION. Its important whoever becomes President can win MISSOURI!
I live in Columbia, Missouri and I voted at 7:45am and I was #272 to turn in my ballot. My precint only has about 300 voters... it should be a long return night here, but I think Obama is going to squeak it out!
