I am flying across the country and I was hoping that I would get to Las Vegas before they called the election. They called it at my layover in Denver. The cheering around this tv is deafening. People from other countries going yes we can. People of all races going yes we can. I am crying. Other people are crying. This is amazing. I just had to write something. I am happy that I am here, in an airport, at a crossroads for so many travellers from all over to see this. To see the excitement.
I just never thought I would see the day and I am only 26. I have tears streaming down my face. This is ours. This is our win. For everyone who worked to get out the vote and protected the vote over the course of the day. For everyone who ever dreamed this is for us. I will never forget where I was at when the United States elected its first black president. I have to get on my plane in less than five minutes but one last thing...
Yes we can.
And yes we did.
