It appears Chambliss and Jim Martin are headed for a runoff. African American turnout will be crucial for Martin's chances. Having President-elect Obama actively campaign in Georgia could boost Democratic turnout. On the other hand...
...Chambliss could use the threat of a 'rubber stamp' Senate to scare Republicans to turn out in large numbers. Obama's presence could accentuate that point.
And if Martin loses, it might take luster off of Obama's Presidential Election victory, even before he takes office. I believe something similar happened to Bill Clinton in 1992 in another Georgia Senate runoff.
So, I submit the question to you all: should Obama stay away and maybe do do quiet fundraising or should he come down to Georgia and actively campaign?
