Election night was amazing. I thought Gore would win, I thought Kerry would win, and while I had a lot more reason to think Obama would win, I wouldn't let myself. But he did.
I can face foriegn nationals with pride, I'm proud of America, I'm really proud for the first time of something that happened in my life time for which "America" can be given credit.
America, the same Americans, more or less, that endorsed torture in 2004 and dirty politics in 2000 have overcome their latent racism and elected a man that promises further greatness entirely separate from the historic nature relating to incidentals about his skin color and American history.
It rocks, and I'm happy to be American.
We now have a Democratic President, and not any Democratic President but the greatest Democrat of our time if I am correct. We have a Democratic Congress, we have a Democratic Senate, a Democratic House. What's left? Nothing, that's what! It's done. Everything follows from this, echelon after echelon of my allies have broken down the gates, occupied the seat of power in a bloodless revolution. So my work here is done. We have accomplished what I hoped we would accomplish. I offer great thanks to everyone that worked for this monumental eventuality. You rock. And whatever small role I have played in word and deed, I thank you for that too... I kept trying, a lifetime of political failures is followed by a glorious triumph.
Now... I get to focus on life, love, and my liberty. The problems are not all solved quite yet, but the men and women in office are on the job, they know what to do and have the power to do it. I'm gonna get a pepsi, take a bike ride, play some racket ball, and retire to a glowing future. I have no reason to stress out about politics anymore because it's all in hand, my, and our, reward is the ability to live without stress, and so it is time for me to move on.
So take care and be safe...
What are you going to do?
