On November 4, 2008 a National election was held in the United States of America.
At the top of the ticket, vying for the Presidency of the county were two men. One was a Centrist Democrat that held to the belief that the country was being dragged kicking and screaming in the wrong direction by the current criminal administration and the other was a (not so) Mavericky Republican that sold out his good name to pander to the basest of the neo-con base that had aided and abetted the current criminal administration in all of their horrendous efforts to turn America into a dictatorship.
The American people went to their polling places, cast their ballots and when the counting was completed the Centrist Democratic Candidate had defeated the (not so) Mavricky Republican Candidate in a landslide! The American people had spoken loudly and clearly that they no longer wanted to be a part of the Republican agenda and that they wanted to see a new day dawn without the Republicans running the "show."
This obvious repudiation of the Republican Brand by the American people continued down the ballot as the Democrats acheived even larger majorities in the US Congress than they had held prior to the election. The Republicans were being squeezed out of prominance in our government and were being placed squarely on the back burner of the political landscape. Their once "Big Tent" of members clammoring for a Permenant Republican Majority had been reduced to a much smaller number of members.
In the world of reality, one would expect these remaining members that now lived within a "Little Tent" to do some serious soul searching and come up with a new agenda that would open their ideology to others and fill that tent back up to full.
Nope! Not the Republicans! Always ones to cut off their noses to spite their angry faces, they have decided that it was the stupid American people that failed them, not the other way around. They also decided that instead of looking for new ways to invite more members into their tent, they would instead purge their ranks of anyone and everyone that didn't walk in lockstep with their ideology 100% of the time! Not only that, their darling Sarah Palin was taking some flack from some of their members and THAT WAS NOT going to happen on their watch! Off with their heads!
In their best fashion (in other words, cribbing from their Lord and Leader Rush Limpbaugh) the unrepentant Republicans decided to invoke OPERATION LEPER!

Operation Leper
Posted by: Erick Erickson
RedState is pleased to announce it is engaging in a special project: Operation Leper.
We're tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others. Michelle Malkin has the details.
We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, when 2012 rolls around, see which candidates hire them. Naturally then, you'll see us go to war against those candidates.
It is our expressed intention to make these few people political lepers.
They'll just have to be stuck at CBS with Katie's failed ratings.
Initial list:
Nichole Wallace
Steve Schmidt
Mark McKinnon
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. - Did I ever tell you how RedState was able to stock Gov. Palin's campaign plane with twenty of these?. We were glad to. And we were glad not to mention it at the time. We are rooting for Sarah Palin. Don't make us add you to our list. Do you really want to be next to Kathleen Parker in the leper colony?
Yip! Due to the incredible popularity of Republicanism in the country at the moment, the RedHaters have decided to purge from their ranks those very people that carried their water in the Main Stream Media and beyond IF those people did not
A) Agree with the extreme Far Right about all things at all times
and
B) Said something less than charitable about their Savior, Saint Sarah Palin.
Well, boys and girls in Republicanland, I have some news for you. You know that place you now hold in the US Congress called the Minority? Get used to it.
You've learned nothing in the last eight years, and from what I can see, you do not have to capacity to learn anything new in the next eight years of Democratic Majority.
Couldn't happen to a worse group of people, IMHO.
