There has been some talk of giving RFK jr. a post in the Obama administration. I sincerely hope this doesn't come to pass. RFK is known for an abrasive, confrontational litigator's style. This would be acceptable if he knew what he was talking about. He does not. He takes on issues where he is amazingly ill informed, often undercutting good causes in the process.
Examples of this kind of arrogant recklessness can be easily culled from the first 5 Google pages. One I did not see there was his destructive work with Amazonian Indians when oil and mineral leases were being negotiated. His efforts actually hurt the Indian's position; but as it typical he had moved on once the headline possibilities were exhausted.
I came into his orbit when hearing were held upstate on the New York City reservoirs. He mistakenly applied data gathered from the Croton reservoir system to the Cannonsville-Pepacton system. The Croton system faces enormous stresses, as it is located in densely populated Westchester County, while the upstate reservoirs are in Delaware County; and area larger than the state of Rhode Island with a static population of 45,000. A few minutes research would have been sufficient to let him formulate a far more reasoned and effective stance. His positions were destructive of both Delaware County and New York City taxpayers. Small wonder he has never achieved a more eminent position in his career.
