One of the things that I hope comes out of this election is that DrudgeReport's influence gets a reality check.
During the primary, he was very pro-Obama, probably because he hated the Clintons. I'm still convinced that he published the "Turban" Obama picture from an unknown source and "credited" it to Hillary to favor Obama, but we can disagree. I think he really thought that there's no way this country would elect an African American for president.
This became very evident during the general election, as several front page posts made clear when they explained the Drudge-FoxNews-McCain campaign connection.
There were several times he tried to sway the election with his "SHOCK POLLS" which supposedly showed McCain "closing"...which of course didn't come to pass (Obama won 53-46).
So I'm really hoping that this site or Huffingtonpost, or some combination thereof, brings Drudge back to reality. And I think one way this will happen now is that since Republicans are OUT OF POWER in D.C. and elsewhere, he will stop getting "inside information" -- which are the main source of his power. And therefore, his stories will be mimiced less in MSM, as Mark Halprin credits him for -- branding him a "national editor."
Hopefully, bringing Drudge back to reality will be a positive side effect of this historic election.
