I applaud President-Elect Barack Obama's call for bipartisanship. On numerous occasions during his campaign he pointed out we are not blue states and red states, but the United States of America. Indeed, it should be pointed out that President-Elect Obama utilized core conservative principles as the very foundation of his campaign. Things like lower taxes, which Obama pledged for 95 percent of working families. This sounds suspiciously conservative to me. And his pledge toward rebuilding a strong national defense, as well as avoiding foreign entanglements, tacking even further to the right by declaring some disentanglement's as well. Lest he forget, a majority of Americans have run shrieking in horror from the fluently incompetent and possibly criminal behavior from the leaders of the remaining 20 percent peopling the "center right."
I am glad Obama is in favor of card check legislation for unions. However, Oklahoma is a "right to work" state, allowed by the Taft-Hartley Act, so I'm not so sure one would be any good without the repeal of the other.
Another suggestion is for Obama to tell Rhambo to give Lieberman the finger.
I hope my ideas are helpful. Anyone else have suggestions?
