There's been a lot of talk the last week or so regarding whether Caroline Kennedy deserves Hillary Clinton's senate seat.
There are arguments for both sides and I won't rehash them here.
However, in light of the Rod Blagojevich scandal here in Chicago, I wonder if there will be any repercussions in New York regarding Hillary's seat.. and more specifically how a Kennedy appointment to the seat will be seen in light of what's happened here.
The Illinois legislature is already calling for a new election rather than allowing Obama's seat to be filled by appointment.
Should we have a national law requiring new elections to fill empty senate seats?
I, for one, am getting tired of the nepotism and closed-door dealings in political seats here in Illinois. Does this go beyond our borders?
I'd be interested to hear from New Yorkers.. have these Illinois happenings affected the talk of filling your empty seat?
