Look, I'm a gay man but frankly all this fuss about voting for Change and finding a preacher who wants gays in Uganda sent to prison on the inaugural podium just seems over the top to me.
I don't live in Uganda.
Probably some will want to make a fuss about Don't Ask Don't Tell, but I would never want to join the military - the uniforms are so tacky. I don't understand what the big deal is - why should and gay person want to join the army anyway ?
I know some will make a fuss about DOMA, but I am a confirmed bachelor and I really don't like the idea of marriage anyway and I think people are just getting upset over trivialities.
I know some people make a big deal about ENDA but I have a job at a gay friendly company and surely other gays can find one too - why should someone want to work for the federal government anyway ?
Of course I was affected by the Uniting American Families Act, which Obama refused to support, because I had a Korean partner and if I were straight we could have marred and lived together - but then not that many gays fall in love with someone from another country so I perfectly understand that no one thinks that Obama's non-support is a big deal.
Also, I'm smart enough not to live in New Orleans so that Katrina stuff is way overrated.
Look folks - for something to be a big deal, it has to be something which is important to ME - why make a fuss over things that don't affect me.
Keep your powder dry, focus on your priorities - mine.
Solidarity forever.
