In a story from CNN the Pope reiterated the Roman Catholic church's opposition to homosexual behavior.http://www.cnn.com/...
"The church has as much responsibility to preserve what it sees as man and woman's God-given roles as it does to protect endangered species, he implied."
This is laughable since this church has done little to preserve endangered resources, the rainforest, or even young children. Its view on birth control is as likely to destroy humankind as anything that humans are doing right now. Too bad they don't know anything about God's creation where homosexuality within species is prevalent and apparently has a role in species survivial, not withstanding basic human rights. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...
This also denies the biology of pair bonding which shows that sex isn't just for procreation but to maintain ties within a pair. Homosexual geese contribute to the care and feeding of goslings and help to maintain the family unit. more

"The pope had no intention to offend or attack transgendered" people, Father Federico Lombari said Tuesday. "What the pope meant to say was that in God's eyes, a person is born either man or woman. And to deny this fundamental concept, central to Catholic teaching, is to create confusion.
"If you forget that ... people are born either men or women and together are meant to create children, then you can create negative consequences."
The Catholic Church considers homosexual intercourse to be a sin -- as it does all sex outside of marriage -- but does not consider homosexuality itself to be one.
This is my first diary, so my apologies for mistakes, etc. I won't ask for kindness, I am too angry at this continual stupidity. This has no basis in science. Barely even based on biblical work. Why aren't these people as upset about usury--it is just as much a sin in the Old Testament?? Well, it is so non-sensical that there are no words...I will quit now.
