From The Whole Delivery.
Walt Monegan was back in the news today. And only the irrational or curmudgeons of the world would find discontent in the previous sentence.
The man, whose life, along with Mike Wooten, was ruined by Sarah Palin, was in Alaska's capital today, talking to some students:
Former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan spoke about trust and integrity in government at this month's UAA brown bag luncheon for journalism students.
Monegan, a class act for what most have reported about him in Alaska, wanted to stay clear of talking about the controversy (to say the least) surrounding him and Governor Palin abusing her powers in firing him from his job.
And he did just so.
But Monegan steered clear of addressing his recent situation and didn't name the governor.
Some of the journalism students were hoping he would.
"I wanted the dirt and I didn't get any of that," said Allison Bly, a junior at UAA.
Instead, Monegan talked about the importance of trust in police agencies and government.
Motivated by the disgusting practices of his governor, as well as a few other things it seems, Monegan is seriously contemplating about jumping to the other side.
"I heard a rumor that somebody's trying to get you to run for mayor," one student asked. "Is that a consideration you'd take now or in the future?"
Monegan artfully dodged the question, but it didn't stop.
"Would you consider running for governor?" asked another student.
Finally, Monegan admitted he and his wife are talking about the possibility of public office.
"Even before I left the city, when I was getting ready to retire, there were people suggesting I think about some kind of office in politics," he said. "I've always considered myself more of a technician than a politician, but you know, times are changing. There's still a demand, and I like challenges, so we'll see."
Sadly, no one asked him about the status of what was going down with the case. Unfortunately, despite the Branchflower report showing that she abused her powers, and the bi-partisan committee ruling 12-0 (mostly Republicans, that she did do so), nothing has been brought up about it ever since Palin's own cronies ruled that she was innocent of any wrong doing.
It has, to Palin, her husband, and the nutcases who worship her happiness, whither away in the wind.
And you would think someone in the news media would want to interview Monegan, right?
Oh, silly and stupid me, this is the American news media of course. Only Rachel Maddow could do such a radical, undisciplined practice of journalism.

December 4's "The Read International."
- Kenya's Prime Minister Raila Odinga thinks it is time for Robert Mugabe to be removed, especially with, as we have mentioned, Zimbabwe's horrible case with its horrible cholera epidemic.
- And it is just as horrible in Somalia right now, as that country is nearing total famine right now.
- And because Dmitry Medvedev is such a good puppet (well, maybe in my eyes as well as a few others), Vladmir Putin has stated that he won't seek a reelection to his former job as of now.
