With the Supreme Court widely expected to keep his secret, Barack Hussein Obama looks to be well on his way to becoming the 44th President of the United States on January 20th.
But Inauguration Day can't come soon enough for some people... they want Obama to start being President now, arguing that the current President is missing in action.
You know who else was missing in action?
Hint: It's not Rahm Emanuel.
Check under the fold for the answer and other assorted goodies.
Chuck Norris doesn't speak Beltway, he speaks the way of the belt.
These people, on the other hand, do speak Beltway:
Meet The Press: President-Elect Barack Obama.
Face The Nation: Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT); Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL); New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman.
This Week: Outgoing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; Secretary of State-Designate Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY); President of the United Auto Workers Ron Gettelfinger; Roundtable with George Will (ABC News), Cokie Roberts (ABC News), Peggy Noonan (The Wall Street Journal) and E.J. Dionne (The Washington Post).
Fox News Sunday: Condoleezza Rice; Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL); Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI); Roundtable with Bill Kristol (The Weekly Standard), Mara Liasson (NPR), Charles Krauthammer (Syndicated columnist) and Juan Williams (NPR).
Late Edition: Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R); Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D).
The Chris Matthews Show: NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell; "Squawk Box" Co-Anchor Joe Kernen; New York Magazine columnist John Hellemann; Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker.
As you can see, President-Elect Obama will be making his first post-election Sunday morning show appearance on "Meet The Press". He'll then be holding a press conference at 2 pm EST to mark the attack on Pearl Harbor and honor the contributions of those who served.
For those of you keeping count at home, this will be Obama's seventh press conference since winning the election just over a month ago. By comparison, President George W. Bush held one press conference as President-Elect, Bill Clinton held three, and George H.W. Bush held one.
Although Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will not be making any television appearances, she's still making plenty of appearances in the headlines.
And, on the topic of Palin's appearances, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) had the following to say:
"When she walks in a room, folks just explode."
Clean-up needed in aisle NRO?
In other news, President Bush and his Stepford wife Laura plan to take a page from George and Weezie Jefferson's book and move on up once his term in office officially ends.
Sadly, they won't have Mr. Bentley to kick around, as he did some moving on up of his own this week. At least he'll have some good company in that deluxe apartment in the sky.
But enough about death...
WE'LL DO IT LIVE! FUCK IT!
Or not.
Thank you. Try the veal.
