As far as deciding who might be the best VP for Obama, one should analyze some of the other potential ticket balancers out there. Voters are all familiar with Clinton, Richardson, Dodd, Biden, and Edwards but who are the other best choices out there? Governor Sebelius, Wesley Clark, Senator Jim Webb, Governor Ted Strickland, Governor Napolitano and Brian Schweitzer are the best VP candidates that come to mind.

My personal favorite is Jim Webb. He is a decorated Vietnam combat veteran. He was Secretary of the Navy under Reagan. He is the only VP candidate who can say he was in a boxing match with Oliver North. He went swinging at Bush the moment he was in the Senate. Jim Webb has a son in Iraq right now. Obama and Webb would be an unbeatable combo. Just imagine Obama and Webb side by side getting us out of Iraq.
This ticket would create coattails for other candidates in those tough red states. The most important thing we need to be thinking about, in my opinion, is securing a filibuster proof house and senate. All of the Republicans are stepping down and retiring and thus there are open seats everywhere.
Even in my home state of Idaho it is possible that the Democratic Party could pick up a house and senate seat. The last Democratic Senator that held office in Idaho was Frank Church twenty-eight years ago. It has been fifteen years since we've had a Democratic Congressman serve from Idaho.
