My post today was supposed to be a recap of the Chelsea Clinton event on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus yesterday (if you want you can see pictures here). However, the recent news that Senator Herb Kohl has voted in favor of retroactively protecting the telecoms has my blood boiling to such a state that I can't even think straight enough to recap the event. All of my political energy is being consumed by Herb Kohl and I'm done with him.
I don't understand how Wisconsin can elect Kohl time and time again while also electing Senator Russ Feingold. I know I'm supposed to be happy that we have Feingold and a luke warm Democratic Senator in the form of Kohl instead of Feingold and a Republican - right?
No. Wrong. No more. Nah-ah. Kohl is done in this state. He isn't up for reelection again until 2012, but I'm pledging right now that I will do everything in my power over the next four years to make sure come election time he exhausts the entire Kohl fortune trying to fight for his political life.
As you can probably ascertain, this isn't the first time Kohl has let me down. The first time I really began to question his representation of Wisconsin was when he voted in favor of the MBNA drafted bankruptcy bill. Then came the network neutrality fight and Mr. Wishy-Washy refused (and still refuses) to take a position. To this day we don't know where he stands even after calling his office over and over again and even bringing a group of Net Neutrality supporters to occupy his Madison office. The answer is, "the Senator is weighing all the options in order to make the best decision." How long do you need to make a decision, Senator?
And when you do make a decision, why are you voting against the best interest of your constituents.
So, Wisconsin Kossacks, who is with me for unseating Kohl in 2012?
