Seeing is believing.
Those folks lucky enough to have satellite or cable TV (CNN or C-Span), or a high-speed internet connection (for youtube.com) have the ability to hear Obama's stump and victory speeches in their entirety. It is hard to hear one of his speeches and not come away a believer. So, why not do a mass mailing of DVDs to the voters in rural America, and let them discover for themselves who this man is, in his own glorious words? They can't get it any other way.
I canvassed for Obama before SuperTuesday and found that those who had heard a full speech needed no convincing. They actually wanted to volunteer as well. Those who had watched a debate or two, were luke-warm or unimpressed. Those who had only mainstream media as their information source, did not for the most part support him.
If you survey the blogosphere, you'll see testimony after testimony of folks who had supported other candidates, including Republicans, but transferred their loyalty to Obama after listening to one of his speeches.
There is not enough time before March 4th for Obama to appear everywhere, and even though he is drawing overflowing stadium-size crowds, still those voters who didn't come out, and stand hours in line, did not get the chance to have that transformative experience for themselves. Without it they will likely not vote for them, because doing so is still outside their comfort zone.
The cost of such an undertaking is really not much more than the cost of printing and mailing color glossy print pieces. Mass pressings of DVDs would be fairly inexpensive, and the mailing cost would be about the same as the printed pieces since they are bulk-rate discounted at book rate. Think Netflix.
And while they were burning his speech, they could add additional material such as his talk on faith in politics. (I saw it as a link on someone's blog and don't have it here, sorry). That intelligent talk BTW would go over very well in the bible-belt, and deflect knee-jerk conservative Christian opposition. Also, a Michelle speech as Bonus Material would be great as well.
Obama strategy-makers, are you listening?
