Trying to bring today's news into his speech tonight, McCain said of Obama "he said he'd bomb our ally Pakistan". Unless I've missed something, Obama's remarks about bombing Pakistan were something like: "if we have actionable intelligence on Bin Laden's location in Pakistan and the government of Pakistan will not attack him, I will take unilateral action."
The Obama camp should jump on this with both feet. So should the media (I'll not hold my breath).
McCain got on the Double Talk Express tonight, saying in his Wisconsin victory speech about his opponent:
...but will we risk the confused leadership of an inexperienced candidate who once suggested bombing our ally Pakistan...
Evidently, Barack Obama said:
he would "press them [the Pakistani government] to do more to take on Al Qaeda in their territory," and that "if they could not or would not do so, and we had actionable intelligence, then I would strike," is "essentially the Bush doctrine: We can attack if we want to, no matter the sovereignty of the Pakistanis."
