Obama's Cabinet? What are your thoughts? VP? Sec. of State? Attorney General? What are your thoughts?
Okay, okay, I know it's a little too early for this. Obama hasn't even won the nomination yet. Plus, he'll have a tough battle with Granpa John in the general election....but....damnit! It's just so exciting to think about recapturing the White House, and having our guys (and gals) running things!
Here's my mock Obama Administration:
President Obama
of course...
VP Wes Clark
That is, of course, unless he said something unforgivably negative about Obama while endorsing Clinton. If not, I think he'd be the ideal candidate for VP. He may not help Obama win any states directly, but indirectly, he'd give Obama a great weapon to counter McCain's experience charges and would give people confidence in Obama's leadership in a post-911 world. Think about it, Obama with a GENERAL.
Attorney General John Edwards
I must admit, I was a little upset that John didn't immediately endorse Obama. It just seemed natural that he would. No matter...I think he'd be ideal for AG. Besides, why leave a talented man like Edwards on the sidelines.
Sec. of State Bill Richardson
No brainer! Besides, he'd be the first Hispanic Sec. of State! And he was smart enough not to endorse Hillary to quickly (unlike Wes Clark)
Sec. of Defense Colin Powell
Okay, I know this one is contraversial. Afterall, his speech is the one that got us into the Iraq War. But....don't forget, he begged Bush for 2 hours not to invade Iraq and he resisted the Bush Administration after the war, until they fired him in 2004. Plus, he's been very complementary of Obama and the two would work well together.
Also, Powell would give him a Republican in the Cabinet, solidifying Obama's unity image.
That's all I could come up with so far. Of course, we'll need some women in the Administration, more diversity, etc. We'll also need to give Tom Daschle a job, as well as others who helped Obama get this far.
What are your thoughts on these and other cabinet positions?
