I remember there was a post on the rec list that claimed that Obama's real-estate deal with Rezko was completely legit. Well, let's revisit. Apparently, what many of us didn't realize was that the Obama campaign was filtering the e-mail to the media.
The campaign declined to share the sellers' e-mails with the Tribune or elaborate on the Bloomberg story.
They WILL NOT release the text of the e-mail. So much for transparency. I wish this was the extent of it, but it's not.
Obama has recovered from his selective amnesia! Praise the Lord! When Obama was previously asked how Tony Rezko found out about the adjoining property in question, Obama used to use the "I don't recall" answer given by politicians who don't want to lie:
It's not clear why Obama had not previously divulged Rezko's tour of the house with him. In 2006, he told the Tribune he recalled talking to Rezko and his wife "either at an event or some conversation we had where they mentioned to me that they either knew the property or knew the developer or something like that.
The seller of the property was selling off two portions of land - the requirement of the seller was that both lots close on the same day. Out of all the people that could possibly be interested in this piece of property why did Obama feel the need to reach out to someone that was "widely known" to be under federal investigation? It doesn't make sense.
As soon as the March 3rd case begins, more will surface. For now, connections are being made of the players involved:
Who is Nahdmi Auchi, who according to the British newspaper TimesOnline may have lent money through a company he controls in Panama to support a fundraiser for U.S. Senator Barack Obama in May 2005?
Who is Mr. Auchi that he traveled to Chicago in April 2004 to visit with Mr. Rezko, who in turn introduced him to Governor Blagojevich and other state officials, including it is alleged, the then-State Senator and Democratic Party candidate for the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama?
Senator Obama claims he wants transparency in government and yet won't release to the text of the seller's e-mail to the paper that has been following this case from the start?
If more information surfaces after Obama becomes the nominee, America will be witness to the greatest case of buyer's remorse we have ever experienced.
