Good news for Minnesota and the balance of the nation, McCain's VP in waiting was soundly body slammed today when BOTH houses of the Minnesota Legislature Overrode Pawlenty’s VETO of a $6.6 billion transportation funding bill.
For just the 14th time since before World War II, the Minnesota Legislature overrode a governor’s veto in a move Monday that ushered into law a $6.6 billion transportation plan, brought cheers from construction workers and politically jolted Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Six Republicans joined the DFL majority in the House in overriding the governor’s veto, following a weekend in which a small group of mostly Republican legislators were under intense pressure not to override their own party’s govenor. Afterward, Republicans lawmakers wrangled over whether those who voted for the legislation would face political recriminations and outright attempts to oust them from office.
Pawlenty has been voted into the governorship on two separate occasions, but never garnered in excess of 46.69% of total votes cast.

IMHO this spells good news for all rational thinking Minnesotans who chose common sense and a gas tax increase as a means of building better roads and bridges, putting an end to the rethug's manta of "NO NEW TAXES."
Please send your E-mail thanks to these six Republicans who voted to override Governor Pawlenty’s Veto:
