It's been an exciting week in the North Carolina Senate race! Jim Neal filed his candidacy papers yesterday, declaring his intention to seek the Democratic nomination to challenge Elizabeth Dole's re-election in the fall. This diary is a link-heavy, narrative-light list of "updates" on the Jim Neal campaign for supporters and those who would like to know more. I will try to do a better job of filling in the story later, but for now I wanted to make sure that folks knew the following:
Jim will be liveblogging over at firedoglake tomorrow at 2:00PM EST, to celebrate his endorsement by Blue America PAC. This will be a great time to get to know what this campaign is about, so please come by.
In other Neal news:
Jim has just been endorsed by former Democratic candidate, John Ross Hendrix.
Jim visits UNC-Chapel Hill.
Activists favoring Neal - a recent story from Greensboro's News-Record.
A good interview , and one blogger's view of how Neal differs from his Democratic rival, Kay Hagan.
The most recent Survey USA polling, which shows Neal and Hagan virtually even.
MoveOn has a survey up, soliciting input on the NC Senate race -- go!!!
alright - I do truly apologize for the lack of
(3) paragraphs, but I'm running out o' the house to an event at my son's school, and I just really wanted to get this info out before I left. Forgive me, and give some love to Mr. Jim Neal, North Carolina's next Senator.
Updates: (A few more things I forgot to say before)
If you missed the opportunity to join Jim for a House Party or Conference Call tonight, you can start planning now for the next ones on March 30th! It's a great opportunity to talk to Jim - for both North Carolina and out-of-state supporters.
You can find excellent ongoing coverage of Jim's campaign at Pam's House Blend, as well as an awesome archive of posts, articles and interviews (including great videos). It's like the virtual Jim clearinghouse.
Finally, the most important thing: Wouldn't you like to Donate to Jim Neal's campaign?
