Today in a stunning announcement, 99 bottles of beer on the wall came together and endorsed Obama for President.
Comments on some of the most notable will be made below the fold.
For the all important California Primary, the endorsement from Stone Brewing Company’s Arrogant Bastard Ale could prove all important. ABA considerable strength (7.2% abv) could help push Obama over the top with moderate democrats who know arrogant bastards well.
Obama was hoping to pick up an endorsement from Bear Republics HOP Rod Rye, but as of now its plans have not been revealed.
Help with the left is coming from Left Hand Brewing Company’s Imperial Stout in the state of Colorado. The creamy head left after the pour will no doubt prove popular with the residents of Longmont and might be enough to counter the long time right wing Coors vote in the state.
And finally, the most important endorsement of all came from Delaware, where the Dogfish Head 60, 90, and 120 IPA’s all endorsed the campaign. Speaking as the most renowned IPA’s in the USA and widely popular in the state, their endorsement will undoubtedly swing the state over to the Obama camp even though recent polls show Clinton in the lead. Clinton did previously receive the endorsement of Dogfish Head’s Snowblower Ale but that endorsement carries little constituency due to it being only a seasonal release.
A problem did occur when the announcement came down this afternoon. The Obama campaign thought they had a strong endorsement from right in Hillary Clinton’s backyard of the state of New York, but a reporter from Hartford Courant accidentally took the bottle of Ommegang’s Three Philosophers down and passed it around, leaving only 98 bottles of beer to endorse Barack Obama.
Never trust a reporter around 99 bottles of beer.
And always remember, just cause a bottle is not supporting your candidate, it does not mean it tastes like Beast, it just has its own reasons. Be civil all, the other side will be your friend in the end.
