So yesterday Barack challenged his supporters to raise $5,000,000.
Seems they did...and more.
This was, of course, in response to Hillary's $5,000,000 loan--and her own challenge to her supporters to raise $3,000,000 over the course of three days.
Expectedly, as Barack approached, and then surpassed his total, bloggers, including many here, trumpeted his achievement: see here, hereand here.
If you read those, their information is all sourced to, well, the best source: the Obama campaign.
But then, as would be expected, some Hillary folks panicked, and put up a diary or two, including this one, claiming that Hillary has already met her three million dollar goal.
The source of their information:
What follows is an unverified excerpt from an email from Hillary’s campaign that’s being passed around on the Net.
"Now THAT is what I call two good days. Not only did we celebrate huge victories for Hillary all over the country on Super Tuesday, but you matched our success with a breathtaking show of support. You exceeded our $3 million goal in less than 24 hours. Incredible. So we're doubling it to $6 million in 72 hours because of your amazing response."
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? An "unverified email" just "being passed around the net???" WHAT?
Even better (worse?) than that, the DailyKos diarist cites to TaylorMarsh.com, as if to try to validate the claim.
Guess what she cites to???
You got it. The SAME EXACT "unverified excerpt."
These shenanigans (and lack of journalistic ethics) are to be expected from such folk.
But from Jerome Armstrong???
Seems that in is interminable need to demean Barack (just read his condescending post...), Jerome decided that facts don't matter.
Sad.
Look, Hillary very well may have raised $3,000,000 yesterday. Given her efforts Tuesday night, one would think she would have.
But for these bloggers, especially Jerome, to source to "unverified emails" supposedly floating around on the internet gives all of us--every blogger out here--a black eye.
NOTE: Someone just posted a CNN video that uses the same information. FYI...just because CNN similarly cites to the unverified email doesn't make it so. Hillary's team has always been very quick to post good news on HillaryHub.com to fire up its troops. So why the radio silence on this???
