I have been watching the Rush Limbaugh site the last few days to see if he is calling on his Stosstruppen to storm the polls for Hillary again in Mississippi today. Now, of course, Rush has his thumbs in his suspenders big time, bragging about how they turned the tide for Hillary in Texas last week (which they certainly did.) Reading some of the transcripts from yesterday’s show, I couldn’t help but notice that a substantial number of callers are worried sick that their cynical meddling may have given new life to the vampire and that they might live to regret it.
My, oh my, what a tangled web we weave...
Rush's blackshirts are deathly afraid that Hillary will somehow (by hook or crook) come back to win the Democratic nomination and then go on to defeat John McCain. Then, one presumes, they would commit Hari-kari en masse, because they were only one primary away from seeing the Clintons consigned to the scrapheap of history and they themselves (the dittoheads) may well have prevented that glorious occurrence.
Rush has come into a barrel full of harsh criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike, for pushing this strategy, so he seems to have lightened up a bit in the last couple of days. We’ll see what happens in Mississippi tonight. I don’t think they can do enough damage to cause Obama to lose it, but they certainly could make the race much closer than expected.
