Yes he can because he care about the party as a whole.
Okay, we know Obama endorsed and helped Foster last week to win in Illinois. I got a call for money today from the DSCC and a letter from Paul Newman asking to support them. But if Obama managed to raise 50 million in one month, I bet it would be equally helpful for him to email us all with requests to help our candidates in their races. Having just returned from a wedding in Fargo, ND (with an Obama button on my jacket) the total response from Dems that I met was "we like Obama we like ANYONE but Hillary." Shock. My Bush voting family does NOT like McCain (too old), but "would consider" Obama. If it is Hillary they say they will be the first in line to vote...for McCain. I live in NYC. I usually LOVE Bill Clinton (thought not so much lately). I had no idea how disliked he and she are outside of the beltway. Given this insight I wonder, would candidates even want Hillary to stump for them. Not that I can see. She is a downer to their cause. Obama. He offers CHANGE. He is a positive.
What if he preemptively starts to help generate money and interest for other races. That shows his leadership in the Democratic party. What if he raises $20 million for the DSCC. That would offer positive evidence of the Obama coattails theory, bring back some of that hope for change that has been getting bogged down. That and the MoveOn "Obama in 30 Seconds" film contest are efforts to get back on the "Yes we can" track in this; our UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
