Can we please move on to the election and stop playing he said, she said. This is getting very tiring. The economy is crashing and burning and they are worried about what some preacher is saying and has been saying for 20+ years. Please!
I was wondering how long this piece of fluff would be playing out in the media. Apparently it will have legs for awhile. The media will not let it die, as it should. Just how long will the MSM keep this story before the voter? I guess it will be as long as the Clinton's want it to be a story. First of all, amazing how fast this story came out after the resignation of Ferraro, the next day to be exact. Sure took the voters mind off the Ferraro racial thing, huh?
Look this man has been pastor of the church for more than 20 years and his sermons are common knowledge, just now, they are politically hot. May I suggest that before one condemns these statements, that one go to the Southside of Chicago and see what the residents are thinking. The rev. Wright is not saying anything that the people are not saying. May I also suggest that the media try to be more realistic.
Here are a couple of quotes that bear reading.
The white man writes his history for us to study, makes his scenario with his heroes and heroines for us to admire and supplies our newspapers. Through these instrumentalities, he almost controls our thought.....If we believe that we come from nowhere and have no history but that of a slave, our substance will be the charity of our oppressors and our future handicapped by doubts and fears. Prospectus of Ancient Order of Ethiopian Princes, Chicago, 1921
To be black and conscious in America is to be in constant state of rage...........James Baldwin
The comments of the Rev. Wright are nothing new. His comments are just updated from the past comments. To make this out to be anything but a pastor and his sermons is just moronic, but then this whole Democratic cat fight is pretty damn moronic, so that explains it pretty well.
The issues need to be addressed, not what some preacher is saying. Ok, he was Obama’s preacher, but so what? Obama was or is a member of an 8000 member church, where else would you expect to find a politician? Let us be realistic, how many white preachers have made horrible comments about gays or Jews or whatever and they got less legs than this. If one wants to withhold ones vote because of what someone the candidate knows then they are not worthy of voting.
