Hardly did any work today. Instead spent the day reading dozens of diaries and hundreds of comments on DK, and following links (even the press seems to have recognized gold this time around, with the predictable exception of Rush Limbaugh). And reveling in the pure joy of rereading and reciting parts of the speech.
And the comments, oh my god, from every source, they've made my day! Even that Master of Snark, the Rude Pundit, surpassed himself in his nutshell account. In a way it's even better than the original - if the speech had one defect, it's that it went on a bit too long. The iconoclastic one-bullet-point-per-minute format makes for the perfect recap, with a hillllarious barb at 11:06 for good measure.
The flip side is - as a freelance editor I can't indulge in this sort of day too often. I'll never get any work done, and that means no paycheck, and that means no treats for Hannibal and Little Kitty! So for pooties' sake, no more speeches like that. At least until I can catch up with my work.
