Anti-war Democrat and 9/11 Relative State Sen. Andrew Rice issued a challenge for his supporters on March 1, and we have come through so far.
The challenge started off at the first of March to match just one of Jimmy Inhofe's $5,000 big oil PAC checks with a whole bunch of netroots money from the people who are supposed to ditacte what government does and does not do. The Rice campaign hit 5k by mid March with what appeared to be mostly small contributions, so they increased the goal to 10k by March 31st.
From the challenge:
Jim Inhofe has received literally hundreds of $5,000 checks from special interests, and he has rewarded them with years of service to them, and not the everyday people of Oklahoma.
State Senator Andrew Rice has a record of public service for the common good, and is proud that his campaign is "owned" by thousands of everyday people who want integrity in government, and common sense public policy. He is proud to NOT be the special interest candidate in this race, or any race.
Please give $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford, to help us reach $10,000 by March 31st, 2008 . As many committed people for reform, we can match just TWO special interest checks given to Jim Inhofe by those who know he will make good on a lifetime of service to them only.
Can you all throw in some money for Rice? $5? $25?
Let's get to $10,000 early.

Rice has garnered the support of the Oklahoma AFL-CIO, and the Sierra Club. He will be the Democratic nominee to face crazy man Inhofe come Nov. 4th.
This is from a recent New York Times profile:
In Oklahoma, environmental groups are raising money to support Andrew Rice, a young state senator hoping to use Senator James M. Inhofe’s views on global warming — he has said that its effects are exaggerated — to galvanize voters and deny Mr. Inhofe a fourth term.
Among those sending Mr. Rice money was Adam Browning, the executive director of Vote Solar, an advocacy group in California.
"When you look at what’s happening in Congress right now, the magic number is not 51, it’s actually 60," Mr. Browning said. "There has been a bunch of very important legislation from an environmental perspective that Republicans have successfully filibustered."
In an interview, Mr. Rice said: "What I find among swing voters statewide is it’s time for change. Inhofe has been in there too long. They really don’t care whether I am a Democrat or a Republican."
This is the Tester race of 08.
Please help Rice out before the end of the week!
