Obama has accepted an offer to debate on April 19th in North Carolina. Hillary has yet to accept. CBS is apparently itching to give Katie some more cred.
CBS News already has invited both Democratic candidates to an April 19 debate in North Carolina, though no location has been announced. Obama agreed but Clinton has not. Spokesman Howard Wolfson has said the Clinton campaign has made no decision about the CBS debate.

I think Obama should be bold and say, since Clinton has not agreed to debate in North Carolina, he is challenging John McCain to take the stage in North Carolina. This sets him up as the putative nominee, points out Hillary is dodging him, and would be a huge ratings getter. McCain is not ready to debate Obama. He's never been able to address many policy points in impressive detail, especially economic issues. Obama will look presidential, and McCain will look, well, old.
HRC will, of course, go ballistic. Which would make it all worth proposing in the first place. And McCain would probably dodge him, too. Either way, it's bold.
What do you think?
