Yesterday on the Sean Hannity Show, racist bigot and pathetic ultra right wing extremist Sean Hannity invited racist neo nazi pastor Jesse Lee Peterson onto the show. Hannity informed his audience that he has been a member of Pastor Peterson's group BOND, which promotes Peterson's racist agenda against African Americans. Hannity says that he has been a "proud member" for "many years" now.
And given Hannity's anointed role as John McCain's primary attack dog and chief smearer, here's why this matter. Jesse Lee Peterson is a vitriolic bigot and his comments are a thousand times worse than what Reverend Wright said. But unlike Obama, Hannity is well aware of Peterson's comments. And despite that awareness, Hannity is still a member of Pastor Peterson's group.
The quotes after the flop are again not for the feint of heart.
In this racist diatribe Peterson opines:
Say a hurricane is about to destroy the city you live in. Two questions:
What would you do?
What would you do if you were black?
Sadly, the two questions don't have the same answer.
But Peterson is just getting started. Instead of recognizing that the evacuees and victims in New Orleans were of all skin colors, Peterson rants:
When 75 percent of New Orleans residents had left the city, it was primarily immoral, welfare-pampered blacks that stayed behind and waited for the government to bail them out.
But it gets more vicious. Here's the money quote from Peterson's poisonous pen.
About five years ago, in a debate before the National Association of Black Journalists, I stated that if whites were to just leave the United States and let blacks run the country, they would turn America into a ghetto within 10 years. The audience, shall we say, disagreed with me strongly. Now I have to disagree with me. I gave blacks too much credit. It took a mere three days for blacks to turn the Superdome and the convention center into ghettos, rampant with theft, rape and murder.
The racism, albeit anticlimatically continues on:
President Bush is not to blame for the rampant immorality of blacks. Had New Orleans' black community taken action, most would have been out of harm's way. But most were too lazy, immoral and trifling to do anything productive for themselves.
All Americans must tell blacks this truth. It was blacks' moral poverty – not their material poverty – that cost them dearly in New Orleans.
Of course it wasn't Hurricant Katrina's fault. In Peterson's world, it's the fault of black
people
If black folks want to blame someone for this tragedy, they only need to look in the mirror.
So here we have another Hal Turner, a vicous racist and spewer of hate and Hannity is a MEMBER of his group. Hannity may pretend that he doesn't know Pastor Peterson but Hannity, just like he did with Turner, has given Peterson dozens of appearances on his show to spew his racist bile. The latest appearance was yesterday.
John McCain needs to denounce his association with neo nazi racist Sean Hannity immediately and tell his attack dog to cut the crap out. McCain too has appeared multiple times on Hannity's programs this year despite Hannity's associations with neo nazi groups and a long history of hateful, extremist rhetoric. The John McCain of 2000 would have denounced hateful Hannity as an agent of intolerance and an extremist. What will the John McCain of 2008 do?
